Akko Chan Monthly
Dr. Honey in Manhattan
Dr. Shepps MD is my ophthamologist.
Having troublesome eyes for a long time in my life, it is huge relief for me to have such a great doctor like Dr. Shepps around me.
One day after the check up, he showed me a small jar.
“Do you want this?”
It was a jar of honey he made. He is even on the label of the jar.
Dr. Shepps is keeping bees in the upstate NY. The place happens to be located pretty close to my Pumpkin Studio.
OK, let me find out more about his honey and his honeybees.
Thus the interview began.(If you can't see the page, please click "Japanese")
*Akko Chan Monthly
A while ago, back in 80”s and 90”s, there was a magazine “Monthly Kadokawa” in Japan. Akiko had regular pages called “Akko Chan Monthly”. It was a report by Akiko with photos. She experienced and explored things she was interested in, whatever attracted her curiocity, and she reported back to the readers how thing worked and what she found interesting. She visited NY Fire Station, Steinway and Sons, mushroom huting etc. Once she even worked at the publisher as Editor in Chief of Monthly Kadokawa to do this report.
The magazine was closed down for good in 1998; however, Akiko has made this project revived on her official website.
Let’s enjly exploring our daily life with Akiko.
